Our daughter began experiencing some complex vision issues during her kindergarten year. These issues led to multiple tests, MRI’s and infections – all of which caused her to miss nearly half of the school year. The public school she was attending was unable to accommodate her frequent absences, causing our daughter to fall very far behind. Between the lack of support and the physical challenges with the school, we decided to look elsewhere – and we found North Carolina Virtual Academy. The curriculum is far superior to other virtual options we had looked at, the recorded lessons allow us to catch-up at our own pace after absences, and the use of actual textbooks has been key for our daughter in reducing eye strain. We have seen such great improvement in our daughter – she was caught up academically within 6 months, and her health overall has improved. Watching our daughter enjoy school again has been life changing.

It’s my daughter’s first year at school, and so far, we absolutely love it. She’s excited again about school and not worried about what the other kids are saying, doing, etc. There is no bullying! The teachers are amazing!

The school is very flexible with classes and time management. The teachers are respectful to all students. NCVA offer many courses to high school students. I enjoyed the flexibility of the school and their confidence in the students.

Attending North Carolina Virtual Academy has been a good experience. I have been attending for the past 7 years and I like going through lessons at my own pace and getting an even better understanding of the material I am currently learning. Whenever I need to travel and miss class it is helpful that I can watch recordings of my classes, so that I am not missing out on important information.

My son struggles with social challenges/bullying. We went through two middle schools, and both brought him to a very dark place emotionally. We registered him for NCVA for 8th grade, and he’s very happy! It was a learning curve to get used to the format/flow, but it allows him to focus on his academics without the social pressures. The teachers are very caring and responsive.

Highly recommend! This school is great. The platform they are using is easy for my kids to navigate. I have two middle school students. They are learning so much this year. Way ahead of our local school. The history books are great. We are very pleased with everything. My advisor is wonderful always gets back to me. She’s always just sending the kids little messages telling them they are doing great. The school is online and it’s very personal. Definitely recommend it.

North Carolina Virtual Academy is a good online school program that allows students to learn from live teachers. The set up of the classroom is like Zoom, there are usually 20-25 students in a class and the teacher interacts with students using the mic, chat, or on-screen tools. The teachers are all really nice and helpful.

I have loved completing my schooling here as I struggled going to school and being productive. Since starting here over 3 years ago I have become the most productive and studious person I have ever been.
